Finished The Witcher 2.

Epic!  I got a little choked up at the meeting of the two Witchers.

Such great characters.  There’s not a single character I love to hate in this game, which ordinarily I might wonder about, but it’s because they’re all so complex and human (non-humans included, you know) that it makes deciding their fates extraordinarily difficult.  Nothing is clear cut.

The set-up for Witcher 3 is also great.  I’m totally hooked.  There’s gonna be badass elves, I can feeeel it…

All in all, 9/10 and only dinged for some gameplay and balance awkwardness.  It’s not the sort of game where you have tons of freedom to fart around with your character as you will, but as a story-driven RPG it is fantastic.  Your choices really make things happen.  Like, big things.  There’s no “eh, it’ll probably all work out in the end so it doesn’t really matter what I do.”  You can get in trouble with that.  It helps if you like Geralt of Rivia, which I do.  I had been put off at first by the awkward controls and gameplay derpiness, but with patching the game is more user-friendly.  I’m really glad I went back to it.
