File this under random, but I thought it was fascinating.  It’s a seaweed variety called Botryllus schlosseri which grows in colder waters.  Via Ann Althouse.  *sorry, not a seaweed, rather a tunicate which is, sort of, an animal… also known as “sea pork” according to wiki.  Even weirder.
