Since no musical performances are allowed at the site, a Stanford art historian and an audio engineer are seeking to recreate what the original Byzantine chant would have sounded like inside the massive space of Hagia Sophia.  They took acoustic measurements and will attempt to recreate the sound using a modern choir.  A performance demonstrating this technique is planned for February 2013. via @Stanford on Twitter
